Love the grey kitty in #935 so relaxed and yet so alert :) Creature usually features in your feline photos so don't know this ones name but is it the one that adopted you?
Thanks,
Buster is the cat we rescued in January. Since he has become a house cat, he has had absolutely no desire to go outside. He knows what's out there.

I never knew we had green stink bugs in New York State. From what I have read, these "true bugs" (Chinavia halaris (Say)) range, in the east coast of North America, from Quebec down to Florida.

My teacher aide is going from my classroom to being hallway support so I thought she'd need a scarf especially since cooler weather is on it's way and she'll have to go outside and follow errant children at times. She saw me working on this scarf a couple of weeks ago and thought i was really pretty. I finally got it finished (after being side tracked by other projects) and photographed.

This is what happens to cattails when they start to go to seed... The fluff is what I imagine pixie dust would be like if there was such a thing :).

Fall is my my favorite season. Today, spousal unit was working in the backyard. before he started, I snapped the image below, converted it to B&W and then used selective color. Selective color came out better than I expected.

I'm still watching the cattails do their poofy seed thing. These cat tails have only poofed out about a quarter of their seeds. They are like the fluff that keeps on giving.

Thanks. This year the leaves are better than they have been over the past few years because we had frost several times in September.

Spousal Unit is very happy with the new replacement sump pump, especially the fact the outflow pipe fits perfectly. I took this when I got home today. It was such a crazy day that this is about the only photo I had time for. :) We all know how that goes.

We had a good, booming thunderstorm late this afternoon. This young labyrinthine orb weaver spider was getting more and more agitated with each crack of thunder.

I went outside this morning just to watch the birds at the bird feeder, and had a thoroughly enjoyable time watching the nuthatches get totally curfluffled because other birds were eating seeds while they were there. Interestingly, they only got mildly exercised when the chipmunk was stuffing its cheeks with as much as would fit. :)

I took this then realized, when looking at it later, you can't find the chickadee immediately. It's there. :)

All four of the above photos were taken, hand held with shutter speeds between 1/150th an 1/160th.

I saw this western conifer seed bug stuck in a spider web this afternoon. A good end to a very destructive insect.

Coming home from work with one of those virulent colds that you can only get from the kids you teach in school, I'm lucky I was able to get even this photo. I realized a little while ago I had to get my butt out of the recliner and take at least one photo. I saw these leaves on the porch and figured, that's today's photo.
