I just bought a L840 over the weekend and I am taking pictures in 16mp or so the screen says but the picture size is much smaller then expected. I am getting 1920 X 1080 or 1440 X 1080. According to the nikon site I should be getting like 4608X3456. So can someone tell me what setting I have wrong to be able to get the larger size. This is the main reason I bought a larger mp camera.

Then you probably have something set incorrectly still. You are going to have to read through the entire manual and find the problem.

Just a quick though does it maybe shrink the pictures when it sends them over wireless to my phone?
I am sure it does. Try plugging the SD card into the computer and downloading them directly there and then look at them.
