I've recently received an e-mail advertising processing called Piccure +. I've read a couple of reviews and they were favorable, but I'd prefer to hear about it from anyone on Nikonites. Therefore, I ask, does anyone here use this software or is anyone familiar with it?

As a matter of fact I just read a post about it here a few days ago. I just plumb forgot where it is and who posted it. May have been Jake. I'll check his latest postings and get back to you!

Looks sort of like what DxO does. Has a free trial period so I am downloading it now and will check it out.

I downloaded it when @mikew made the post a few days ago, but had no time to play much with it yet.
I would be much interested as well about your findings.

I did pull up a photo and run it through the plugin in LR. Not sure it you can see it here but it really did sharpen it up a lot.

Just relating it to the programs ability,hoping ime wrong and it does work

I did pull up a photo and run it through the plugin in LR. Not sure it you can see it here but it really did sharpen it up a lot.

Not read it yet saving that for later,did you use it like unsharp mask as a last process on the jpeg or early on in the raw.

The first was just the standard develop of RAW which adds sharpness and then straight to JPEG

the after had the same processes and then the Piccure + applied and then straight to JPEG.

No other adjustments made.

 

[Horoscope Fish]

I'm running some tests of my own. Normal lens correction, 50% Noise Reduction and 50% Sharpening via Piccure+. No other processing. Both images were then resized to 1000px on the long edge and saved as JPG using Photoshop.
