Any other techniques you would use to make the pheasant pop, or anything I may have done wrong?

Like the green ,like the bird ,rocks and moss, the fence is fine,,, the tank however ,,, unless its some kind of heirloom or has personal meaning to you ,, needs to go away.

I agree not ideal, I'm not sure removal tool could handle such a large object?, and the positioning of the pheasant and me was more luck than me I'm basically pulled over on a back whack road there with the pheasant on the move away from me and the car..

That's how it is with birds , often you just take what you can get. I do like the moss and rocks and would consider it worth the time..few minutes, to PS away the entire background beyond the rocks, which have a relatively clean edge with abrupt transition to the smooth background , almost any green rolling stuff having the light in the right direction ,and a few pixels worth of gaussian blur ,would do. Depends on how often you get a good shot of them. Ive never seen one , so I'd certainly keep it.

Their fairly common around here and there's a rare all black pheasant near my dads hat u e not managed to get a good shot of, I'll try and have a play this weekend and see what I can do with it I'm new to ps and lr, and still learning the basics..
