Penny is 7 and we struggled with this decision, especially given that she's a boxer. However, when it got to the point that she would hold her leg up and wouldn't even put weight on it, doing nothing was no longer an option. The success rate of a TPLO is very high (nearly as high as the cost) and if she lives another 3 yrs or more pain free, it will have been worth it. But had she been 11 instead of 7, I think our decision would have been different.</p></blockquote><p></p>
