Well, most of my shots of the war birds look similar to Ted's, but his appear better. I will post some of mine along the way.

BTW, the only PP was a crop here or there. I'm happy with my new settings.

I was able to get the P51 Mustang in flight today. Coming in for a landing.

I'd love to HEAR one someday as well as see one of course. I've read that the Merlin engine is music to the ears. Great photos Marilynne! Superb lighting and clarity.

Thanks, it was great watching it fly.

When we arrived at the air field I was disappointed to see the P51 was not there. I mean Ted had shots of it. Where was it?? About 15 minutes later, we heard it - there it was in the sky to the west of us.
Chris was hoping for a strafing run. Didn't see touchdown since there were lots of trees to the south of the runway. After it landed and taxied back, it made lots of wind, the barriers blew down.

The Collins Foundation modified it into a two seater so they could charge for rides.

Wow... very nice pics! Even the props appear to be frozen. That must have been a high shutter speed. :p

In flight photo, shutter speed was 1/750s Aperture F6.7. On ground shutter speed was 1/1000s Aperture F6.7.

I was wondering about that cockpit. I think the The P-51 B and C Models had a cockpit like your plane and the D Model introduced a bubble canopy that offered the pilot welcome and unimpeded visibility all around.

So... shiny! Loving how all the snaps turned out. Kinda makes me wonder what a polarizer could've done to that reflection...
