Original F Body Cap on FM3A

Hi I am thinking of getting an original F body cap for my FM3A like this:

Am I right in thinking it wont damage the mount since the FM3A is an AI camera?

My F3 body cap looks like this and they're safe. They're available everywhere.

I'm not positive, but the one you posted looks much older.

Yes they're for the F1.

I have just been told the meter coupling lever on the body prevents its use.

According to Nikon USA the latest F body cap BF-1B will fit an Z8
