We have 2 groups already in G+ and it is getting messy.

To be honest, you would be best to create another community because G+ is nowhere near as easy to keep track of as this forum or even Facebook in my opinion. So....can I suggest if I haven't added you to the group, that one of you create one and invite anyone still needing a group to yours

I think maybe we should just use this thread. At least we know how the forum platform works :D

So......somewhere we are supposed to pick a subject (and I couldn't find that bit last night on the course website) and take a photo. If someone stumbles across that info on the website, could you please post it here :D
So which module are we supposed to pick a subject, and where are they found? I'm wondering if I havent got that far yet!

You know all this stress it seems to be causing to get into groups etc and today I find the group activity is not compulsory. So if you aren't finding a group DO NOT stress.

The below is from the O2S Forum.........

Hello everyone. It's really great to have you with us for The Art of Photography.

We will be starting a team work task later in Module 1. To prepare for the project, please find four or five other students to work with, either by introducing yourself in this forum, or heading over to Google+ Community and searching for classmates there.

You can prepare for the group work by having a look at how Google Circles and Google Groups work. Some information is available by following the links below. In your team, decide which way you would rather work.

The project is not compulsory. Rather, it's a chance to extend your learning and apply some of the principles you learn in this course.

You can follow this link, to take you to the Arts & Humanities page of the community, where you can connect with other students, and create your teams:

I dropped out of whatever group or community I was in, or trying to get into.

The whole lack of direction in forming these groups, and G+ in general, turned this into train wreck.

Yeah, I lost interest in the whole group thing, it all seemed just a little too hard. Being that it's a free course with no official accreditation for finishing or passing, I don't imagine any of the course is compulsory.

Totally agree. All that crap and then to find it'd not compulsory. No-one from the course is going to look at it, it's all about sharing and lets face it, between this forum and wherever else any of us post I am thinking we do plenty of sharing and giving/receiving feedback.

G+ is far too clumsy to use for that sort of thing anyway. I reckon the O2S people must have a deal with Google and that is why the big push to G+ :D

The group work is not compulsory so don't panic about not being in a group. Myself, I decided NOT to do the group task as it's not compulsory and is aimed purely at getting you to share your work (which we do plenty of here anyway) and is not in any way marked and probably not even looked at by anyone but the others doing the course.

I must get on and do the 3rd module. I keep forgetting about it

My problem with the group thing is when I said I couldn't get out I mean it's been raining a lot which has definitely put a damper on my outside activities but I am also an avid hiker, backpacker, camper, biker and I do most of my photography when I'm out but it's been to hot and during the times that I can't/don't want to get out I manage my web site JaxCoder: Home and work on electronic projects using micro controllers. I'm a retired programmer and into electronics as a hobby so my interests and projects vary widely. Anyway I had intended on the weather getting cooler as the class went along and thought I would be getting out to take pictures and do my hiking but I tried about 3 weeks ago to do a 4 mile work hike and it like neared killed me. Old and out of shape so I should have not tried it.

I have now completed the course but did not participate in any group stuff. Did try but the group fizzled out ...

What's the point in the group stuff when only the group are likely to look at it. Just far too many pic posts on the course G+ page :D

I am almost finished. I have not learnt heaps of new stuff but have learnt stuff so it has been worthwhile so far :D

^^^ Likewise @Vixen - nothing spectacularly new but some stuff was good. I did learn that some of the photos he calls classics do not appeal to me.
Does that mean I should take up something else? :)
