Just inside the Detroit city limits is this building, part of a complex that is completely abandoned and literally falling down. Life Among Death

This barn was built by my great-grandfather ca. 1895. It lasted until 1991, when the Rolling Fork River, in Larue County, KY, flooded, and took it down. The original image was taken with a Nikon F3, 50mm f1.4 Nikkor, on TMax 400, exposure not recorded, in 1990, about six months before its demise.

A little background......These two buildings have been a part of a lawsuit to save them. Guy selling for (for 10 years) wanted crazy money for them. The bank next door bought them to tear down and will most likely make them into another parking lot.

People have long complained about the downtown area being torn down to create parking lots (that no one parks in). The irony does not escape one here.
