Hence, another reason why a long macro is preferable to a short?

The longer lens give you more working distance at 1:1 than a shorter lens, but I wonder if the shorter lens gives you more DOF at 1:1. I haven't tested that theory, but I do prefer to use my 55mm macro lens over my 105mm lens for small insects.
