I have a 4 day weekend starting the 25th - I have booked a hotel for the 4 days as a surprise for my wife... A 3-room suite on the top floor of a city centre Hilton. We go on Christmas day afternoon after our dinner for a nice city break.

@SteveH......did you have a nice weekend with your wife? How was the view from the Hilton?

I haven't been yet Chris, we go on Christmas Day! :)

I had a week away in North Wales / Chester using the 70-200mm, and it was awesome - lots of castles, nice scenery and a zoo visit. I haven't got the shots processed yet as I had the nativity as soon as I got home & had to process them first! I'm gutted the lens had to be returned, but I do have permission to buy one in the new year!

Great! Glad to hear you'll be celebrating the Holiday in style. We have some visitors here from across the pond....but they never seem to make it to North Carolina. The Duke and Dutchess have been up in NYC.

I'd love to see the castles, etc. Hopefully we'll see lots of them on our trip to Germany if the dang airfares don't rise too much. Petrol prices have dropped, but the airfares are still rising. WTH? You'll be happy with your new 70-200 mm f/2.8 VR II. Great lens, but so big and heavy. Takes great images though! One of the best, if not the best out there. Cheers!
