So was Apple just exposed?

Apple Unlocked iPhones for the Feds 70 Times Before - The Daily Beast

" Apple has unlocked phones for authorities at least 70 times since 2008. (Apple doesn’t dispute this figure.)"

Well it seems that Apple never "Unlocked" the phones but actually "Extracted" the data ...

No, Apple Has Not Unlocked 70 iPhones For Law Enforcement | TechCrunch

It has not unlocked these iPhones — it has extracted data that was accessible while they were still locked. The process for doing this is laid out in its white paper for law enforcement.

I just updated my LG3 to "Marshmellow". All my secrets are safe and sound. Android security and a cool name for an OS is a combination that is hard to beat.
Do you guys over at Apple land have cool and tasty names like that? :barbershop_quartet:

Good read! And, as is usual in situations like this, DETAILS... FREAKING... MATTER.

And what made me laugh? This: "The more highly technical the basis of a story, the more likely it is that some key detail will get jacked up by a journalist trying to translate it for the public.

Thanks for the post @Daz

"Those who would sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither." That sounds like it's aimed specifically at this administration.

My guess is that Apple's development team will simply say "We have no earthly idea how to make a secure operating system with a back door. So sorry, we are unable to comply because we're too dumb." and leave it at that.

A law can't compel you to do what you don't know how to do.

I used to think that as well. I used to also think that the law can't make you purchase something and then fine you if you don't or can't afford it.:indecisiveness: The whole world is so upside down now, that nothing surprises me any more.
