Normal lens /filter cleaning

Take a look at the Lens Pen. I carry one in each of my camera bags.....just in case. :) For general cleaning, I use a Giotto blower, lens brush, then the Lens Pen. As for a cloth...yes, use a microfiber cloth...GENTLY! You don't have to press hard with a cloth. And NEVER spray any cleaning fluids on the lens/filter directly! Spray the cloth, then the lens/filter.

I now use Zeiss Lens Cleaning Wipes and a microfiber cloth to remove any residue. $2.97 for 50 at Walmart. Each in a its own foil wrap, very efficient and convenient.

A poster on another forum questioned the use of these wipes on a camera lens and the original poster pointed out that they were good enough her hospital's $300k Zeiss neurological microscopes.
