This is obviously due to the fact that there are not enough posts in the "latest purchase" thread. Come on guys & gals!!

Nikon Corporation's stock now traded in US (NINOY), downgraded by Goldman Sachs to ?sell? | Nikon Rumors

I am on the fence regarding a Nikon 1 V3, but i feel it is a bit pricey for what it is. Though, i don't think it would help much.

I figure it's always suspect when a company that makes their living by buying and selling securities says buy or sell. They probably just look around at which companies they can smoke and mirror the customer into moving.

On the other hand, any reason to buy more gear is a good reason.

I think GS lost some (if not all) credibility after their mortgage frenzy.

It's not that they have any effect on my world but I'd not even take them serious would they scream my house is on fire.

Done my part this year - Nikon 610, 60 mm macro, 50 mm prime,

I bought other's but they were used so that won't help Nikon INC.

BUT they really need to look at their pricing strategy. Yes Nikon is better than 3rd party but not that much better. For example I'm thinking of a battery holder gizmo - Nikon may be better but not at the price difference they want.

As for lenses - my next one will probably be a long lens - 400mm or something suitable to get that long shot - Sigma and Tamron are the top two contenders, Nikon's are just way too expensive and really is the image quality that much different?

I've been hearing, for the past few years, ads on the radio strongly urging listeners to buy silver and gold, and it has evoked similar thoughts in me. The advertisers, trying to convince us that these metals are going to skyrocket in value in the near future, want, of course, for listeners to buy from them. This means that they want to sell. Why would they want to sell if it's going to go up? You want to sell if you think it's going to go down, or at least not go up as much as some other investment into which you could put your money if it wasn't tied up in the one you're trying to sell.

I've already bought two camera bodies and lenses this year. I'm single handedly trying to raise them from the ashes ... the next camera model will probably be named after me. :D
