Nikon Price Changes?

I was on nikon's website comparing prices and noticed an increase. I came across two lenses I currently own. I noticed their prices have gone up. I am sure other lenses may also have increased in price but I am only sure of the Nikon 35 & 50 1.8g and the 50 1.8D. As far as zooms, the 55-300 is now $480. The primes stated all went up about $40. Not sure if anyone posted this but wanted to give ya'll a heads up. I don't know when this happened or if it's even the latest news. Hopefully it did not affect any other lenses.

Whoa. 50mm 1.8G is now $264 on the Nikonusa.com site. Was it always that high? on their site?

B&H & Adorama still show $216.95

Nope. I believe it was 219. The 35 use to be 199. The 55-300 use to be 399 but now it is 480. There is most likely other changes but I am not sure of them. Other sites such as best buy, bh and adorama have the original prices. I am sure these will be changing soon. This is the only thing that lead me to believe that this is a very recent change. We might need to jump on these older prices before they change!

Very interesting items like those would jump that much. Glad I picked up my 50 early this year :)

So far the 85mm is still $499 on the site, there is still hope for me ;)

Wowzer! :eek: The 20mm f/2.8 is up to $750 (thought it used to be in the $550 range, wasn't it?). And the 24mm f/2.8 is listed as $474. Amazon has it at $359.95 right now.

Hmm...wonder if Nikon will switch to MAP and 'allow' what seems like a greater savings on their regular prices without actually changing the existing selling prices?

Holy c--p... Those are some pretty stiff increases. I just picked up an 85mm 1.8 G and I'm loving it. For those considering this lens I'd spit now if I were you. Of course now I'm wondering about picking up a 50mm 1.8 while they're still such a steal... GAH!!! I'm becoming a "Primes Whore"!

*shakes tiny, impotent fist at Nikon*
