The Nikon 18-35mm is an ok lens but has a lot of distortion and must be stopped down to get a decent sharper image unlike the newer optics which is already sharp wide open, has better flare resistance and VRII.

Edit: I must have confused the topic. I thought it was 18-35mm vs 16-35mm f4 VRII.

I'll be attending the CP+ show anyway. Hopefully they'll allow us to test the lens with our cameras.

amazing,, and yet WHY! laughs, bragging rights? I still have my orginal Nikkormat, consider it a pretty paper weight. The FM was such a nice upgrade. and the F3, such a nice upgrade, and the 8008,, such a nice upgrade,, and the D80.. such a etc etc

Not that I can see. Not a lot of need for VR on a wide angle like that.

After shooting at 35mm in 1/8 I started to love the 16-35 VR

Finally saw a user review of this lens on Amazon. Seems pretty impressive.
