If part of your desire is to collect you will need an F3 HP :D and various F2s

I would have to agree that any such collection really needs an F2. I may be a bit biassed, given that that's what I have in this line.

It occurs to me that one body can be configured to be any of the variations, simply by installing the appropriate finder. The DP-1, DP-2, and DP-3 finders will make the same body into an F2 Photomic, an F2S, or an F2SB respectively, all of which are made to work with the old non-AI lenses. The DP-11 and DP12 finders will make that same body into an F2A or an F2AS, respectively, which are the newer AI-based models.

My beloved bought me a Nikon F3hp, so counting the Nikon F4s, I'm on my way in collecting some very cool pro Nikon film models! Here is listing photos of my new used Nikon F3hp! :D

My Nikon F4s just arrived and what I thought was wear, was mostly dust! Woohoo! There is a little wear, but it is in awesome shape and seems to work fine too! :D
But boy do I need a manual! Lol I figured a lot of it out, but a manual will be a real plus to get! Lol :D

If your google Foo is strong... there are a few web sites (at least one that I saw) that for a small "donation" will send you a color scan of the original manuals...

I walk by my shelf and see my fm2 and n90 just sitting there these days and makes me sick how they became obsolete in such a short time, but am glad to know there are folks that still enjoy them.

You should have got an F2, then, that being the last fully-manual camera in that line.
