If you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay for that? My daughter has started her photography course at college, and she loves film photography and playing in the darkroom!
Thanks for that. I'll take another look at ebay, but having never owned a Nikon SLR (always been an Oly girl) I have no idea of model numbers etc, and whether I would be getting a bargain. Here in the UK, we often seem to pay more than the average for equipment too.I paid $43 here in Australia, from ebay for mine, but you can probably find them in good condition even cheaper in the States. I'll put a film through it next week. Some of my favourite film SLRs are the FE, F80, F100 and F801s but I'm sure this will be just as much fun![]()

I'll probably spend some time this weekend looking at ebay to see if there are any available with lenses.
Thanks again![]()
Thanks for the advice. I think my daughter uses a completely manual camera at college, so I will ask her to find out what model(s) she has used. I'm only prepared to go this route as she has access to the full processing facilities at college... and I think she is talking about doing a degree in photography after her course finishes. I really cant believe how she has taken to "old school" photographyWell if you're new to the old Nikons I would possibly suggest looking at an FE if you want a completely manual experience or one of the later models like the F80 which is very nice and light and probably one of the easiest to use. Beware though, as some of the F80 cameras develop a problem with the rubber coating, mainly on the back door. My F80 has started to become slightly sticky, but it's not at all a problem. Google 'Nikon sticky back' and you'll probably find out more about this.
