I just purchased an Ipad Pro and see that I need a wireless adaptor for the camera to communicate with the Ipad. Looking at various web pages, I see different adaptors at quite a range of prices. Does anyone know what the correct adaptor(s) are for the camera? Also, is anyone familiar with the CamRanger product and do you have an opinion about it?

I use the Nikon WU-1b on my D800E and D600. Never used the CamRanger though.

I believe @RocketCowboy has or did have a CamRanger. There are some others on here that were working on building their own CamRanger (Cheaper alternative). Do a search for CamRanger on here. You may find the threads I'm referring to.

I have the CamRanger and like it a lot better than the Nikon wireless (WU-1b or WU-1a, played with them both) options. That said, there is a thread here on how to build your own CamRanger, since they are using an off-the-shelf wifi router for the hardware ... and then there's open source software for that side of it.

I tend to default to productized solutions so I have someone to call if/when support needs arise, but even the DIY CamRanger looks pretty straight forward.
