Talk to the manager of your local store, even Best Buys.
Most Best Buys and some other stores have a policy of no "PreOrders".
However, you can sometimes still get on the Manager's list.

NOBODY KNOWS DUDE. I hate to say it like that, nobody knows yet. What info we have is already out there. Historically, Nikon will let things leak a bit a few months before anything is actually released. Canon on the other hand will just BAM! then it's out. Just be patient, it will come likely by the end of summer if not sooner. Best guess.

Yes, it's probably for real and yes, a new 7100 revision is likely as well as a 5100 revision. Probably. Likely..
