Nikon D5100 and external flash

Recently just purchased Neewer TT520 external flash and Im having a hard time trying to figure out how to get it to work with my Nikon D5100? Any suggestion???

you bought the wrong gun its not iTTL send it back and get a YN 465 or 468
any gun that says nikon and canon is not iTTL you can use it but you are back in the 1960 where your control is a tape measure....

Ok for a slave if you into that sort of thing...

What they are saying is that flash is not made to talk to your camera. You need one spec'd as iTTL and then it will communicate with your camera and adjust the flash.

what you will need is one specified as Nikon iTTL ......yn 465 OR 468 if you are on a buget...you can afford to drop and smash a cheap flash gun but not a Nikon .
