Nikon D3200 using a 50mm 1.8G lens first time

I shot my first video with the 50mm 1.8G lens, I was pleased with the look and bokeh. I downloaded the video to my Pinnacle editing program and found black bars at the top and bottom of my video, which I never had using the kit lens.

I want a full frame picture, can this be corrected with camera setting?

To followup, it turns out this was an easy fix in my editing software, changing the aspect ratio of the clips to 16:9.

FYI- I found that using the 50mm 1.8G lead to another issue, video is easily overexposed shooting at 1.8. While this can be easily corrected with still photography it cannot be easily corrected in video where there are limitations on shutter speed. So I purchased an ND variable filter and so far so good. The filter allows me to shoot at 1.8 outdoors in bright light and indoors with studio lights. The upside to this problem is the lens works great in low light.
