I guess if I had a heavy full frame set up worth thousands I'd be more inclined to pay the extra. With a light weight D3200 it would seem odd that the strap costs a third the price of the camera body.

Yea. It's all fun and games until you can use your camera to work out as thousands of dollar kinda dumbell.
