I just bought this lens for myself. Like the others here, I agree it was definitely a good purchase. Good mid range zoom lens. Quick enough for what I use it for. If I'm every shooting at night or in low light conditions it is because I'm taking a long exposure. So there really was no need for me to buy the f/2.8 version at its price point.

4th of July parade. I desperately tried to get to the other side of the street so I wouldn't be shooting into the sun & haze, but there were too many people. And then I had people running/standing in front of me, etc. These ended up being "for fun" snapshots only. I must say, even with the tiny f4 mounted, I had every single person in the parade look my way and pose for me without my even having to ask. Everyone else was shooting with cellphones.
Nice and sharp Rick. I would consider this for a lighter zoom walk-around but I need to get rid some of my lenses. I don't know which one to let go yet.

Difficult decisions...,Being a minimalist, I never have to worry about that.
