I've just ordered this lens and it should arrive tomorrow. I have great hopes for it.

It takes a bit of getting used to, but you going to enjoy it, I'm sure. Someone gave me a tip that has helped me a lot.... Use manual focus with this lens. It makes all the difference. Have fun!

I agree, it takes a bit of getting used to, but your tip helped a lot. Great lens even for general photography which allows big crops in processing. I've now adopted it as my standard lens. Close-ups are remarkable ... when I get them right.:D

Vie days ago I had my 40mm on the D5100 - I shot in a room where the light of coming in from the window opposite. I thought that shoot is going bad. But the 40mm is a great lens. I just took a small fill-light in the LR3.6 and re-sized.

Nothing special about the subject - just trying out my gears to know what can I do.
