Sigmas won't be all plastic, and for sure sharp... The price will surely be up there....

I dont know really, but Im not liking nikons build for their new gear. they make it look nice, but when you hold and feel it, its not the same feel as their legendary build of older lenses. that plastic is joke. especially all those plastic threads.

I will get the 135 DC when many will jump to the new sigma and nikon versions.

I know the DC is a good lens...But even that lens isn't cheap..I will be going for whoever updates theirs first...Which looks like Sigma..Nikon is spending their time with applying this new coating to all there super zooms now.

Got curious so I checked out the Flickr pool for this lens. Magnificent bokeh action! Would be interested seeing some shots with different bokeh control settings. Didn't even know there was such a thing.

I think Nikon will come out with a 1.8 as the patent suggested. I think they will be consistent as with the rest of the new 1.8 G's, 28, 35, 50, 85 makes sense for the 135 to be 1.8 (not that Nikon always makes sense :)). I would probably spring for one, 365mm 1.8 on my V2 would be awesome!

That would be nice once Nikon releases it. f1.8 lenses from Nikon have been priced more reasonable for the most part compared to the f1.4 versions.

Thats my next lens. Here is my 85mm 1.8D of my grand daughter.

Used a Genesis SP692n CLS TTL and the SB700 in Commander Mode (no light added). The SP692 may have had -exp compensation because I wanted the tree to be lit up. This is cropped.
Amazing what the 135/2 will do.
