Well, i did speak to them but they are not able to adjust or refund the money.
They asked me cancel the order, they will refund the cost...
But i do have to re-order & i will get the discounted cost...
So i have to wait again :(

On the brighter side (if there are no further issues), my final price would be $720

Hmmmm.....while I am happy to see you getting a deal. I just have to wonder at the timing of this whole thing. That deadline for the B&W flower shot is getting closer.......:D

Lol.. i hope so too..
i can use my 35mm though :)

anyway i inquired about the regarding the price drop, it's apparently some sale going on in the store.
Everything in the store gets a flat 10% off.. Plus they had another promotion where all electronics had a flat 10% off...
Plus, the seller (who is an independent vendor on the store) had a 3% or so off

So yea! Talk about timing

Wowsa. I would have done the same thing. When someone starts throwing percent signs around plus the word sale.....I am all in.

Sorry Deezey, hadn't seen this thread in a bit..
Well, the woeful story continues.. rather ended today.
I guess they figured they would have to pay off their pockets to deliver the lens to me as they were certainly not able to stand up to the crazy discounts they offered.
They kept delaying & giving excuses & i asked them to cancel the order and refund the money paid (TWICE) back to me with a promise that i would never be dealing with them again.
I have a mind to go their Facebook page & vent out my frustrations, but doubt anything would get done.

I have since spoken to my local dealer who can get it in 2 days or so & at a little lower than the retail price.
Well another story for 'if it's too good to be true, it is'..

The funny part is that the few accessories i had ordered from China off eBay are already here!
And the frigging lens from a couple of miles away is nowhere in sight

I woke up this morning quite psyched about the whole situation.
I called at least 50 camera stores in Bangalore & just ONE had it available, in stock, ready to pick up.
On my way now... will post back with the 105mm with me.. hopefully

Sorry you went through such a mess. I got a note from B&H this week telling me it was in stock here, so they must have just finished a batch of them. Through years of dealing on the interknot I've learned that certain things I only buy from trusted sources, and cameras and lenses are among them. One bad experience costs you more in time and frustration than you ever save.

Learned it the hard way :(
I guess they did not deliver cos it was waaay under the original cost... and they weren't ready to bear the costs of their promises.. sent an email saying 'never again'
