Re: nidding's first year of shooting

Thanks.
The first idea was to put the watch on my night table along with the books that were lying there. But as I couldn't really get the composition to work for me, and the time rapidly approached midnight, I got the idea of shooting a last minute 365 shot in the last minute of the day. So I just leaned the watch on a book which gave the split background. I think I still had the night table idea in thee back of my mind, so at the moment didn't think about that it would not work in the same way when you don't have the context.

Day 16

Not really a photo I like to show around, actually. But had a busy day, so the only photo I had time to take, was one to try and identify some of the algae growing in my fish tank. The green ones are common. But the purple ones are a mystery to me. So here you are. My aquarium from its least attractive side :)

Day 17
Today I went to a small town nearby to buy a baby carriage. As there was a indoor zoo which I could get free entrance to, through my work, I thought that I might as well go by there, to try and get a few shots for today. Unfortunately the light indoor was pretty poor, and I never got below ISO 3200. Anyways... I did get a few shots

Still a nice fish in a tank photo. I haven't done one of those..... All my fish died of old age and I never replaced them.

Welcome to another year of your photographing, rocker! You don't have to excuse yourself for not going out lately (just don't drink too much coke - remember the orthophosphoric acid;))

This is how I celebrated the successful repair of one of my lenses:

Day 18

Todays' picture didn't give me quite the effect I was aiming for, so as a compensation you can have a few more from yesterday :)

The last one is sadly not from my fish tank :)

It may just be my monitor, but I think your bird photos need a little brightening.

No you are probably right. As I mentioned earlier the light there was really quite dim, so I had a lot of troubles getting a good exposure. As I was already at ISO 3200, raising the exposure in pp gives a lot of noise. None the less, you are absolutely right, I think :)
Thanks for the good advise!

Day 20
Do you guys know that feeling, when you feel like you don't have nearly enough stuff in your living room? Well I don't. Unfortunately I came home to 2 inches of water in the basement, so now we have A LOT of extra stuff all over our apartment.

Luckily it doesn't look like too many things have been damaged.

Brilliant photo. I've often found it hard to get good shots at aquariums due to dirty tanks!
Thanks a lot, Derek :)
The aquariums at the zoo were really good looking, and also the glass was very clear. On the anemone tank especially, though, the light was just awesome. So really this photo was just getting focus and pressing the trigger. But yeah, otherwise aquarium photos are tough to nail. I'm always struggling with them.

Yeah. That really sucks. The moisture down there seems to be receding fast enough. So hopefully we'll be able to clear the living room within a week :)
