Day 228
I'm spending these days in a basement on campus, to try and get a few exams done, that I had to skip in the early summer. Lots and lots of books there...

Thanks, Marilynne :)
I'm working on the third assignment in five days and have a defence for one of them coming up two days after this is handed in. Oh boy, do I long for this to be over :)

Hey Roy.
No 'chemicals', ever! (well technically that isn't true, as chemicals covers more or less everything. But chemicals in a layman’s' sense ;) )

So far I have only removed them manually by hand. I have neglected my home tank as well, which is why it looks as it does now. But my plan is to get into a tight schedule for water change, start running my phosphate filter again with phosban or similar product. I also plan on changing the filter of my RODI unit, to be absolutely sure that the water I use for WC and top off is totally clean. Finally I might add a few critters to the clean up crew; a tuxedo urchin and an emerald crab to take care of the bubble algae that is creeping around in the corners.
Lots of stuff to take care of in such a small fish tank. But luckily winter is on its way, so time will be there for nursing the tank :)

Can we see pictures of your tank? :) And what kind of 'black algae' are we talking about? Have you identified the species?

Re: nidding's first year of shooting

i will try and remember to bring my camera for a shot of it, looks like 2 WC a week is starting to work, plants are almost free of it and i scooped out a lot of it this morning, that green slime algae is the worst.
