Day 129
Each year a regatta is held on the small lake on campus at my university. The concept started 15 years ago an revolves around a relay race involving roving over the lake, downing a bear, put the bottle on the ground turning around it 10 times and returning over the lake. This is the social event of the year on the university and attracts between 20-30.000 people. My wife and I went this year with Dagmar in a tram, which made it pretty hard for me to get a good picture. I got this though to give an impression of the amount of people DSC_4879 by jonas_sandager, on Flickr

Jonas, I didn't expect come across photos from my old uni on here but it brings back lots of great memories so thanks for that :)

You are very welcome :)
When did you study here?
If you look through my 365 there are a few other photos from campus :)

Cool, I will have a look through the older photos then.

I was there from 1994 onwards, so it's quite a while ago now. What year did you start?

I enrolled on philosophy in '09, so not until some years after you must have graduated.
I can't remember where in the thread the pics appear, but there are some more from the park, and one or two from a newer part of campus called the Nobel Park, which I'm not sure were build when you studied here :)

I finally found time to look through all of your photos and managed to find the uni photos you talked about. :)
Yes at least some of the Nobel Park was build while I was still there.

It looks like you have had a really eventful year already and congratulations on getting married and the new addition to your family.:)

Keep up the good work.

Re: nidding's first year of shooting

Thanks for taking your time to look through them. I hope the few ones of the university brought about a few memories :)

And yes. Until now this year has been nothing short of fantastic to me. I'm very happy that I decided to make this documentation of it. I guess that although this thread could be seen as somewhat of an alternative story line to my 'regular' life, it does cover the most important parts plus a lot of odd views on all the other stuff.

Cheers :)

Day 134
Stormy clouds

I still struggle with getting the clouds right. If anyone has a tutorial for GIMP or Aftershot I'm very interested ;)

Jonas not sure if you are aware of the GIMP forum but they are a great bunch of guys (the same as the guys here) when it comes to help. Google GIMP forums I think there are only 2.

Day 136
A long while back I promised some more manly pictures from my medieval hobby. Today is sorta moving in that direction.

This week has been a really bad one for me. First a close friend through 24 years got hospitalized with a failing kidney, which obviously really sucks, and as if that wasn't enough my grand mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer in her liver, and has a few weeks left to live. She is old and we had a hunch something like this was coming, but man it sucks as well :(

But a good hard sword training can really take ones mind off of the problems. Focus and adrenaline really work wonders once in a while :)

While we was there, I tried one of my training buddies' d7000. Man, did that put my d3100 in a sad light. The feeling of those two cameras are just day and night. No doubt I will have to make that upgrade some day. There's just that little thing with the price tag ;)

And speaking of my camera, it just passed the 5000 shutter count today. A round on me, everyone :D

Sorry to hear about your friend and grandmother. We'll keep them in our prayers.

Re: nidding's first year of shooting

did you adjust the cloud on the left, looks wrong. Right side ok. Try a cp filter, it helps to may the clouds pop.
I did. And you are right that it looks all wrong. For some reason it looks a lot less pronounced on my laptop, which I used to make this edit. I really need to stop using that screen for anything picture related.
Thanks for the tip. I'll try to get my hands on one of those. They were on top of my list anyways ;)
