This is my 1st picture taken in 2014. Honestly, at first I didn’t like it. But after some thought, it is going to be my favorite picture for a long time, and I want to tell you why.
I am always watching the phases of the moon, and I noticed that for New Year’s day a new moon was rising 5 minutes before a breaking dawn. I thought that this was pretty cool. A new moon, on New Year’s day, with a breaking dawn to illuminate it, on the beach, with my babe!
Well, the weather was horrible. We set up in the dark, and of course it was raining. The picture was taken just minutes before dawn, and as you can see a storm is coming straight for us.
Well I snapped what I could, and on the way home my wife and I kept remarking that even though the weather was lousy, we really had a great time together, and that New Year’s morning was a success!
So, as I look at this picture of a storm coming straight towards us on a dark and inhospitable morning; I have to remember that as long as we are together, we’ll weather ANY storm!
