New Nikon 70-300

You have to wonder just how sharp this lens is
[h=1]Yongnuo YN50mm f/1.8 for Nikon $89.99[/h]
i like there flashes and they stack up against the Nikon flashes pretty good but a lens is a different story. Can't wait for someone to buy one and let us know.

It seems as though Nikon has lowered the MSRP of the current 70-300mm VR lens down to $499.95. It was over $500 when I bought mine. That current lens is really good which makes me wonder if the replacement will be any better. Just like their new 24-70mm f/2.8 VR reviews indicate that lens isn't quite as sharp optically as the non-VR model, it makes me I wonder just how much improvement this new 70-300mm VR lens will have over their current model. Thanks for the heads-up. :)

I recently watched a comparison video of a Yongnuo lens (I believe it was also a 50mm lens) against a Canon lens. The Yongnuo wasn't anywhere close to the Canon's ability.

Interesting stuff...

Maybe the new 70-300 would use the Electronic aperture like the new 18-55s mentioned in the article. Side effect being, there are only 3 bodies that support those two new 18-55s, so something needs expanded support...

Hopefully the price on the current 70-300 will drop when the new 70-300 hits the pipeline.

It has already. It used to be sold for over $550. MSRP was somewhere around $589, and they don't discount Nikon lenses much except when Nikon has a lens sale. But maybe it will come down more in price. It's a great lens for sure! ;)
