The above test shots were taken on a tripod, mirror up, wireless remote. The lens is sharper then my handheld skills at the moment. Carrying one lens around will allow me more time to get a photo then mess around swapping lenses. There are times that I see a photo id like to take but the lens on the camera is too long or short and I don't bother. To me, a great photo out weighs slightly better IQ.  The 18-300mm 5.6 I had was great too, but this one is much smaller and noticeably lighter, smaller and less expensive filters too. It's the perfect lens for me. This newer lens and my wifes d3100 make for a great travel kit for us.</p></blockquote><p></p>
