New Members with zero messages

Why are there so many new members who have so many messages at zero:

Example! Messages 0 Reaction score 0 Points 0

Perhaps these users should be deleted after a short non-used period?

I suppose that these are the folks that join with a specific question. After getting, or not getting an answer they never visit the forum again. This is a pretty common practice.

So how can are they able to ask a specific question without leaving a message higher than 0?

OK, looking at it more closely, I guess the message count is actually the post count. I guess the only way would be someone joining, but never posting anything.

Maybe they are shy or just nosy

We need all the members we can get. Maybe they signed up to read posts, but just haven't had anything to add or ask yet.
