Got my lens yesterday and love it. I tried hard to get an out of focus or blurry image but couldn't. Every pic was detailed and crisp. Guess a prime simplifies everything and makes it difficult to screw things up. Great lens and I' going with my wife to see her mom and get some some nice photos of family!! Thanks Again Guys ,Paul

How does this prime lens perform in astrophotography since it is a fast glass? Has anyone tried it?

The Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art series is, in my opinion, a better lens but it's also $900. The Nikon 35mm f/1.8G is a gem of a prime and a fraction of the cost.
Get one; you'll be glad you did.

Much better than most zooms. Fast glass means less exposure time so less star smear. There are lot of excellent Manual Focus glass available that is ideal for Astrophotography.
