A brief hello from myself and the UK,been interested in photography for over 40years now, 35mm, roll film and the last 10 years digital,my overriding interest was always natural history but then about 5 years ago i just stopped taking pictures, last year i had a sudden rush of blood and bought a 3D tv this sparked my interest in taking 3D pictures to view on it.
You can probably guess the rest more gear was needed to fulfil my needs,i still had my original Nikon d70 with a sigma 105 macro,my wife had a canon 300d with sigma 70-300,due to cost and lack of remote release on the d70 a matching outfit was bought for the 300d for 3d wildlife shots, due to the problems of every day moving subjects a fuji W3 3d camera was added.
I love the d70 but i do quiet a bit of cropping now and when you start with only 6million pixels a heavy crop doesn't leave much to this end i purchased a D5100 yesterday for travel and 3D static subjects the other reason for this choice was the variable angle screen for those low tripod shots.
Was intending to start getting to grips with the new camera today but this is England and its raining.

This one Nikon | Imaging Products | Digitutor is nice to just watch now and then in a few weeks watch again. Several time I have been shooting and remembered a little something from one of these tutor that has helped me get a better shot. There are also several Sticky topics in the D5100 section of the forum that can give you some good ideas and knowledge.

Ask lots fo questions and post some of your photos.
