Greetings! I live in western OK and recently got a Coolpix P500. Now to make sens of all the options. I went from an old Kodak Easy share with a 3x zoom to the 36 and am in heaven, well most of the time. Are there any camera clubs in West. Ok that anyone knows of?
I love taking pictures of the horses in the pasture or the grand kids, wild life, etc. But so far, I am stuck on Auto..
Thanks in advance for any ideas of what I need to do to learn more about all these features available to me.

Welcome to Nikonites, Jean. We hope you find the time spent here useful to you. I know this sounds obvious, but, in order for you to get full use of your P500, there is no better source of info than your instruction manual. I know, I know........we all hate to do a lot of reading when we want to get on with taking pictures, but there's just no way around it. Regardless......if you're stuck on a particular feature of your camera, don't hesitate to ask. I'm sure there's someone in here that can answer your questions. So have fun, and take lots of pictures! :)

Hello Jean and welcome to Nikonites, hope you enjoy the forum. I also suggest you start reading here, more enjoyable than the manual, look at folks pictures, read through the critiques of pics and learn from it. Search on the different modes and you can get suggestions. But like Jack suggested know your manual and how to change your camera settings.

Hello I am from Oklahoma too! Tulsa area...

Fill out your profile and post some more gallery pics and join in some discussion. I've found this to be the best Nikon site on the net. There are good folks here that take some great pictures.
