Need help choosing sling bag

So I think I've narrowed it down to the Case Logic CPL-107 and the Lowepro Slingshot 102 AW. They both seem pretty similar but the Lowepro is 10 dollars more as far as I could find. I'm not looking to carry much (Camera, 1-2 extra lenses, Flash and random stuff) so I wanted something compact. This bag would be more of a walk around bag as apposed to a transport equipment bag.

Any experience with these bags or sling bags in general?

I own a LowePro and love the quality of them. I have owned Case Logic products in the past and have not had a problem there. Is there a local dealer that caries both in your area? If so I would put hands on both and see how they felt.

I'm not aware of any Camera stores around here but I think some of the bigger chain stores (bestbuy etc.) may have them in stock so I'll have to try and get over there.

I had the lowepro 120 and I sent it back and got the 302AW because the 120 will not carry a DSLR with anything over a 55mm lenses. Just a heads up. Other then that the lowepro bags are excellent.

I carried a LowePro 202AW for a long time and my girlfriend carries it now. It's pretty compact but would give you a little room to expand. The LowePro bags ARE all very well made, but so is my current Case Logic backpack bag. I'd have another LowePro, or Case Logic, bag in heartbeat.

I've had the Lowepro Slingshot 102 AW for years, great bag, I love the functionality and quality. My D7100 w/18-105mm fits in the 102AW bag just fine. I keep the hood reversed while it's in the bag.

I think you will have a hard time fitting all of that gear into the 102, I suggest going up one or two sizes.

I find the slingshots really uncomfortable after a while. They are ok as a second bag or for just carrying a body with lens but any real weight in them and I find the design really uncomfortable.

I much prefer backpack style bags.

Ok so the consensus seems to be that the 102 is a bit small and the 202 would be a better fit. I'll have to look into that. I really don't want too big of a sling bag because then it will probably get uncomfortable pretty fast.

Do you guys prefer a sling bag to a backpack or no preference?

I prefer the sling. Reason #1 is I do not need to take the bag off to access my gear. Safer and cleaner :)

Do you feel like you're really limited in what you can carry in a sling and still have it be comfortable? It seems like a sacrifice that you either carry a large uncomfortable sling or a small bag that doesn't hold much. Or at least that's what seems to be what I've read.

My sling bag is quite comfortable actually.

I prefer a backpack bag, personally, but this is a really personal choice. What I've found is that I rarely need to carry every single bit of kit that I own. I like being light and fast and to this end I maintain two camera bags. Bag #1 is my "Big Bag" that can contain ALL my kit. Its main function is storage; it gives me place to keep all my kit. I rarely carry this bag on my person, though it rides in the car a lot.

Bag #2 is a much smaller, more portable, messenger bag; it's my "grab-and-go" bag. This one carries a spare lens, a filter, some spare SD cards and a spare battery. There's room for a flash if I really think I'm going to need it but that's pretty rare actually. Bag #2 packs the bare essentials because this is the stuff I know I need 99% of the time. If I'm not going to need it, I don't want to be carrying it... And it's amazing how little you actually need 99% of the time.

Same with me. My Lowepro 302AW will be my main storage pack that goes with me on vacations and such. But I can't see using that as a daily wear pack. I like the top load bag I have and it'll be better once I get the straps to mount my mono pod to it. I'm still thinking I'll need a go between pack. One that can carry my camera with the 55-300 mounted and my 18-200 tamron. With the ability to store the 55-300 when the tamron is mounted. I need to do some more researching.

While I wish I could purchase two bags right now to use as a storage and an every day bag because that would be convenient especially for trips. I don't want to carry everything everywhere but I would like to have everything if I were to fly somewhere etc. especially one larger bag that could fit a laptop with all my stuff/future gear that I could pick and choose what I want out of for that day. However, at the moment I'm settling for a bag to carry the essentials (preferably holds a smallish tripod comfortably) around with me since that's more practical. I like the idea of the sling bag because of the ability to remove the camera without taking it off but it also seems like it could be uncomfortable with a tripod and also way less versatile as far as gear goes.
