Mystery 2 of 6

This item is about the size of a place-mat that you might sit dinnerware on. I apologize for picture quality, but I did not want to remove the items from their sleeves.
We suspect this was brought back from when my father-in-law was overseas during the Korean War.

I think this has a Buddhist look to it - thereby not excluding and Indian origin...
I agree with jdeg on the mandala notion, but also come to think of a Buddhist wheel of life, with the different worlds seemingly appearing around the wheel. Also I interpret the guys inside the wheel, but not in the center, to be the Buddha-appearances of each world.
So my guess would be an Indian mandala interpretation of a common (if not the central) Buddhist image.

I can't give a guess on age or value, sorry :/
