Lonliness or solitude comes to mind. I do not like the near center composition. This may be a good shot in the fall with some background colors to give it a little pop and perhaps a different angle/composition..
 
I believe that this could be a better shot with some cropping and other changes.
Honestly, I don't particularly care for the fact that the subject of the image takes such a minor amount of the overall picture. If the objective of this shot is to "introduce" the viewer to your wife of 36 years (as suggested by the title), you want to get her a LOT closer. If I were cropping this, I would take advantage of the pathway to create a vanishing point on the photo, and have her leading into the foreground. Also, be careful of the mixed lighting, as you can wind up with overexposure of parts of her face and a complete shadow in other parts.
