My journey started in Istanbul where there was a huge pro-gay demonstration at Taskim Square.

Iranian people are very hospitable but the Kurds surpass them imho

My son was in Military Intelligence and was able to go into the towns and meet with the village leaders and got to really know many of them. He learned to like Chia tea. Some days he would have 8 or 10 meetings and each one of them would start with the tea.

MHe learned to like Chia tea.
You mean chai, which means tea. Chai tea is a tautology.

Some days he would have 8 or 10 meetings and each one of them would start with the tea.
They drink chai everywhere, all day, all the time and offer every guest chai and other things. Sometimes it is almost embarrassing because they keep offering. Regarding hospitality, in Iran they also have something very special called taarof which is sometimes confusing.
