My daughter at playground

Hi,
I'm new here and I thought I'd post a picture. This is my 2 yo daughter at playground, where I usually like to grab a few snapshots of her. I cropped it to 8x10 format. Any c&c welcome.

The picture is larger than maximum allowed here, so I'll add a link below:

Great shot of your daughter. Expression is good, depth of field is good, overall good picture, and of course a good subject. The only thing I would do is to try and avoid as much of the red see-saw post in the shot, it's a little too dominate and distracting. And of course welcome to the Nikonites Community. If you would please complete your profile with some information about yourself, your camera and equipment. This will help us to help you with your questions and responding to your posts. We would also like to see more shots of your daughter.

Welcome. I actually dont mind the see saw in the foreground...adds a little depth. what distracts me is the heavy vignetting. I think it would look better without it. Otherwise, nice shot. Super sharp at 300mm. Nice piece of glass (and other equip too)

I also like the seesaw for the reasons posted by Joe. I think it adds depth and interest because it's aged. A metal seesaw wouldn't have the same effect in my opinion. This is a great candid shot, her expression isn't posed and she looks like she's having fun!

I agree with Joe on another point: the vignette is distracting and unnecessary. The only other negative thing I see is that the depth is a little off. There is some softness in her hands and feet. However, her face is in focus, which is the most important thing.

Thank you guys for comments and suggestions. I tend to look at my own pictures the same way I originally shot them, and other photographers' views widen my perspective (sorry for pun).

This is a great shot because your daughter has that expression. To me, the rest could be cropped and the picture would benefit. I find the color of her pants and the bottom part of the see-saw are taking my eyes away from her face when I look at the picture.

Here would be my crop suggestion:

I would have to strongly disagree with this. This crop just eliminated any depth and perspective, as well as half of her body lol. In the original photo, it is evident she is on a see saw and she is up in the air, having a blast. Now I can't tell what she is on...could be a rocking horse wondering whats around the corner. the crop changes a lot...even her expression, in my opinion.

I say, keep the original and just lose the vignetting.

Thanks everyone. Valuable comments, critiques, suggestions and ideas. Some that I do and some that I don't agree with, but thought-inspiring and I'll nevertheless try them next time. Why, you might ask? Well, if I do the same thing every time, the end result is the same every time.
