My album of my gymnastics shoot

OK so this year I decided to go to the p&g gymnastics championships. This is a proffesional event btw.

I knew I wanted to take some pics so I decided to come on this forum a while back and ask what lens to get.
I ended up buying a 55-200 standard low end lens. Now I know some of you pros out there may just see that and leave but the reason I have amateur equipment is because im only 14 and dont have a job.

Soooo.... heres my top pictures

Now I hope you liked all those. Those are the ones I sent to the athletes (my friends in some of these cases).
I took a good amount more but none are as notable. P.s. if you care to use any of these pics contact me not because I care if they are used because I want to know if there used :)

It's a good first shoot & it's surely better than I could do. You seem to have got a fair shooting position too. For your next shoot, try to frame the athletes a bit tighter so that they fill the frame. Also consider the background as it can confuse the image sometimes. :)

Have a quick look at a Google image search & see how the pros do it. Don't feel that you have to copy them, but look at the aspects of their shots & see what you like: https://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=...img..0.10.753.JuYJ2-aK0Vc&gws_rd=ssl#imgdii=_

Pretty good shooting. I am impressed.
What is surprising is how much of the background is in focus when you were shooting mostly around the f4.0 mark. I would have expected the distracting background to be a lot more blurred.
I am sure the athletes will be thrilled with them.
Pat on back.

great job for someone so young!

My daughter used to compete at trampolining at a regional level, and the club coach used to be the event photographer... (pro level camera, and the skills to match!) but he always said he had more in the "trash" than in the keep pile... so you are doing great.

Very nice. As Gorf has indicated, try zooming in allot more and fill the frame with the subject. The reason the DOF is as large as it is is because the subject is so far away and blends into the backgrounds more so than if you zoomed in on them. Zooming in on them would have separated them more from the backgrounds. What WB was the camera set at? Looks a little blue.
