multi selection and left side buttons inoperable

Had the camera 1.5 yrs, used frequently in many conditions. Last week almost all the back buttons stopped working; the live view still works. Camera works fine otherwise.
Any idea what might have caused this? Or if there is something I can do to correct this?

Welcome to Nikonites. Unfortunately, we are not a repair forum nor do we offer repairs. You might find someone who had a similar problem that can help you by telling you what he did to fix a problem, but just don't hold your breath. Cameras of today have a lot of electronics inside. All it takes is a weak soldering and a lot of things can go wrong.

Have you tried to do a factory reset as per the user manual. Sometimes this can cure many things but I can't guarantee it would solve your problem. A call to Nikon service center or the store where you bought the camera (if you did get if from a brick and mortar store).

Asking for a solution to such a problem is like phoning a doctor and asking for a phone diagnostic... Not too many real doctors would be ready to do such an unethical act.

Hope you can have your camera repaired.

Welcome to the forum! Like Marcel suggested, try a factory reset. If that doesn't work contact Nikon. They can be pretty good at helping sometimes. Good Luck.
