It's all good Kodiak. I know you're not that sensitive but I like teasing people, especially someone as unique as YOU! :)

I loved the headline from the moment I laid eyes on it, and clearly it represented a challenge to many people here on the forum with far more knowledge and experience than me.

Dragging up an ancient thread here (I did a search on 'Reflex-Nikkor 500mm f/8'), and to a point I agree with Kodiak.

This is one of my cats, indoors with the reflex. I only got one shot off, at 1/160.
Seeing how this was on a DX sensor, it is a 750mm shot (right?).
It was very close, if not at minimum focus.

I'm just sorry I never got to see the pictures in the original post.
(I know practically nothing about PP, so this is just lightened up a bit.)
