The zoo is one if my fave hangouts for family, pics, etc. already. We get annual memberships and wander a lot.

As you can see it was not shot with a Nikon. So much of shooting at the zoo is being there at the right time

another one of my favorites they will not use since the mom and baby both died shortly after I shot the photo

I used to go to the zoo every weekend when I lived in Louisville. I really have to get back to going to the zoos more.

I used to go to the zoo every weekend when I lived in Louisville. I really have to get back to going to the zoos more.

I have a yearly pass. It is excactly a 2 mile walk around the zoo. With stopping to take photos it takes me on average 1 hour to walk it. With my bad knees and ankles that is just about all I can do. It motivates me to walk when I am there because it is such a nice walk and I never know when I am going to get that perfect shot. Sometimes I only take 3 or 4 photos and sometimes I stay at one spot and shoot for half an hour. Like the one of the baby rhino and it mother I was there for 45 minutes shooting.
