No it was not. It cost 30$ to ship it back only costs 5 to clean it myself. Im going to call them tomorrow and ask how that resolves anything.

Yea this is what I anticipated, they would only change shutters as long as it is under warranty. Frankly I don't know if changing shutter helps because they changed thrice on mine, but I am sure they will charge u more than $100 if it's needed now......which is really sad that a customer has to pay for their screw up.

I contacted Nikon Service today to ask if it was their intention to just clean the shutter and the gentleman told me that was just the standard comment on a camera sent in for spots. He said it looks like they are replacing the shutter mechanism. We'll see! Keeping the fingers crossed.
