The shell is from the winged bug above it. They come in a large variety of colors. Here we have the black and gold (yellow).

It's a cicada. At least that's what it would be here in NJ, though they're more green when they're not molting.

Much better. More animals. More Kinds. The only thing that sucked was it was a constant up and down hills and it was a muggy wet hot.
