Day 149 A Tiny Grasshopper
So I'm outside trimming the old flowers off one of those little micro flower rose plants when I see this almost overlooked micro grasshopper. It was very wiry and tiny on the petals of the rose. I had never seen one before and like any other dorky photographer... I got excited and went running for my cameras.
Watching this little guy, he was really rough on the rose petals. Imagine if you will, petals on a rose have a soft velvety texture. This little grasshopper would move along like a mower and munch the velvet off the petal. Never biting through, or chewing the edges, but slowly moving along taking off the velvet texture layer.
For scale, his entire footprint area was about half my pinky nail and the flowers shown are little micro roses.
