Made a decision, going to stop my 365 thread and return to my “as often as possible” thread, the thing is ime taking pictures which in all honesty offer me no interest or excitement at the taking stage they are just post fillers to maintain my obligation.

Excitement may be a strange thing to hear from someone who has had cameras for over 40 years but it is the right word, the excitement comes for me when I go out looking for pictures and as the image snaps into focus through the viewfinder and I press the shutter button,it may be something I have taken 100s of times before but this one may be the best yet.
Pictures off the type I have posted I love to see from other members, especially if its there style and interest and obviously giving them the excitement and satisfaction that my type give to me.
Hope no one feels I have let the side down but I feel to be true to myself and my photography I should see a picture in my subject before I take it.
Thanks every one for your support in this thread and would just add I do see the benefits in a 365 but just feel at my point in photography the downside out weighs the up side.

Will start posting in my old thread as soon as the weather allows me to start going out and taking again.

Well mike I always say that you have to do what feels right for you, as you are the one taking the photos you need to be able to enjoy it. Hope to see more of your photos soon.

First and foremost, photography is about YOU! If you are not happy...it will show in your images. And I for one don't want that to happen. While I will miss your posts in the 365. I understand and respect you decision. Thank you for giving it a go!!

I speak out from my 52 year old heart:" This is why I don't do the 365 project".

Will start posting in my old thread as soon as the weather allows me to start going out and taking again.

And I am looking forward with great eager to see your photos there.

I have never participated in any 365 project. I understand the theory and reasoning behind it but I just can't get into taking a picture just to have something to post. Some of my shots are better than others and my be more worthy of posting but I never want to be put in the position of taking a snapshot to have something to post for that day and have to write in the commentary that I know the picture isn't much but I needed something to post. I just can't understand that reasoning and do not see where it accomplishes much.

Mike, I totally understand what you are saying. There are days I am just not inspired and there are days I shoot and delete everything I shot. There are also days where life gets in the way and I just don't have the time to do something I want and I just can't take a picture for the sake of a picture. Keep posting your good stuff my friend.

I have talked with people that are doing or have done a 365 thread and they are very positive about it. I just can't get excited about going out and taking a picture of a garbage can lid or a hole in the ground that has no value at all except it gives the person something to post. A 365 project works for a lot of people but is just not my cup of tea, so to speak. I like to try and post something every day but lately have not been out shooting much, and when I have did not find anything of interest to shoot. If I ever did a project like this I think it would be a 52 or at least one photo a week.
